Hadonaut is a spatial adventure game made with Godot, it is still in early development, any kind of feedback is much appreciated! If you have questions, ideas or concerns, don't hesitate to comment this page.

The concept of the game is to rely as much as possible on gameplay, without the help of tutorials or explanatory texts. This concept is justified both by an intention to create a game accessible to everyone, even to people who don't regularly play video games, and to create a game that fully embraces the interactive potential of video games. The fun for me is to convey the story with gameplay and the fun for you is to explore the game and try to understand it!

The game is developped on Godot, and its source code (written in GDScript) is fully available on GitHub. The source code contains the whole project, so you can test it yourself.

i love inventory and map 's animate , good work ^^

Thanks, I'm pretty proud of the result! I hope it'll make the interface more fun to use.

very nice keep going ^^

Thanks! Any specific remarks?

(1 edit)

I only have two concerns:

1) the icon of button map is not very meaningful, looks like a cube or screen, not a tablet with the map.
2) there is nothing to indicate that the game is not finish or how far we can go.

i waste some time for looking for an other item than screwdriver , key and map tablet

1) You're right, that icon is very confusing, I'll think of another. The problem is that the UI theme is temporary, I may end up re-working that icon as I find a more specific theme for the UI. I'll try to make it also more visible that you get the pad (the only animation is the pad button getting visible). Also, the pad isn't only a map interface (and so the icon shouldn't be too specific). I don't want to spoil too much, but there will be other functionalities to it.

2) In the new update, I put a welcoming screen, to indicate what changed since the previous version, and a pop-up message that lets you know when you've seen all of the content of the game.

Thanks for your ideas and advice!

Looking great so far! Some feedback:

  • loved the atmosphere, art. lighting and sound
  • love the “no text” adventure game format
  • no way to quit the game apart from alt-f4
  • I’d bump the “ambient ship sound” up a notch by default
  • final room is inescapable black screen (guessing just still a work in progress)
  • nice touches like the mouse hover and eyes

I will be interested to see where you go in terms of puzzles, devices etc.

Thanks for the feedback!

for the no-quitting part, I'm working on it, just finishing the pause menu.

The final room is indeed inescapable, because I haven't made it yet :P I'll disable the door until then.

For the puzzles, I'll add some in the next update, that's what I'm working on right now.
